Cut by 0.25 per cent to 3.0 per cent

The Reserve Bank of Australia today cut official interest rates to 3 per cent - a level not seen since the global financial crisis, based on fears that Australia's economy is deteriorating.The Australian Bureau of Statistics' economic data reflects negativity in employment, a marked slowing in the mining industry and unconfident retail sales. Since the RBA embarked on the current cutting cycle in November 2011 it has now cut its key cash rate by 175 basis points altogether. The question is...? Will they or won't they...pass it on! Thoughts!

Lowest Interest Rate Cut in 3 Years

The Reserve Bank of Australia cut the cash rate interest by 25 basis points to 3.25 percent.This is the lowest rate since October 2009. Treasurer Wayne Swan has urged banks to pass on the full interest rate cut. Will they or won't they?? Pass it on?

The RBA keeps interest rates on hold!

The Reserve Bank of Australia has again kept the interest rates on hold at 3.5%. Since November 2011 rates have fallen 1.25% from 4.75%. Whilst the property market is still unsteady there are positive signs that Spring will be met with promising listing and sales.
